Dental Health During The Holidays

Your dental health always matters, even during the busy holiday seasons. Now that it’s November, we want to ensure our patients stay on top of their dental care. Here are some of Kanning Dental’s best tips on maintaining your brightest and healthiest smile during this upcoming holiday season:

USE YOUR INSURANCE BENEFITS

Because the holidays are so busy, many patients forget about their dental insurance benefits. Unfortunately, once the year ends, you are unable to use any unused benefits from this year. It’s important to take advantage of your insurance benefits before it is too late to do so. With the weeks ahead only getting busier and busier, now is the perfect time to go ahead and schedule your next preventative care appointment, replace an old dental crown, or consider a cosmetic dentistry solution for yourself. Kanning Dental accepts most major dental insurances, including PPO plans. We participate in many dental insurance plans. If we are not on your provider list, please call our office for confirmation. Our office staff will assist you in determining your coverage when necessary and will file all claims at the time of your visit to maximize your benefits.

HOLIDAY SNACKS TO AVOID

Cranberry sauce, fruit-flavored pie, hot cocoa, and red wine are just some of the holiday favorites that should be enjoyed in moderation. These snacks in particular contain strong staining agents which are known for dulling your smile. If the staining agents remain on your smile for too long, they will firmly attach to your teeth and leave them looking yellowed. To combat this dullness, Kanning Dental offers teeth whitening services as a part of our cosmetic dentistry services. Teeth whitening is one of the easiest and most economical ways to makeover your smile and get a fresh new look that can often take years off of your overall appearance. We offer both in-office and take-home teeth whitening treatment options to suit your needs and your budget. Whether you want to go ahead and schedule a teeth whitening appointment now before seeing old friends and family members, or if you want to wait until after the holidays to restore your smile following all of the fun, we are here for you.

REMEMBER TO BRUSH & FLOSS

The final months of the year are some of the most hectic ones. With holiday parties, family dinners, and office gatherings, there is a lot going on in your schedule. However, your dental health should never be forgotten about. Brush and floss your teeth at least twice a day to maintain the longevity of your dental health. If it has been over six months since the last time you’ve sat in the dental chair, go ahead and schedule your next preventative care appointment with us. Remember, preventative dental care is your smile’s first line of defense when it comes to avoiding costly restorative procedures later on down the road. Kanning Dental has two convenient office locations in Lawson and Richmond, MO to serve your cosmetic and restorative needs when it comes to the health and appearance of your smile. We look forward to seeing you soon!
